A Marriage License is required to be married in the Town of Ridgefield.
A Marriage License must be obtained from the town in which you are getting married.
A Marriage License is valid for 64 days, (the ceremony must take place within 64 days of applying for the license).
Both parties must sign the Marriage License and take an oath in the presence of the Town Clerk or Assistant Town Clerk. Both parties must appear in person together or individually.
The cost for the marriage license is $50; certified copies are $20 each. Payment must be made by cash or check.
Applicants may apply for a marriage license between the hours of 8:30 - 11:30 AM and 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Marriage licenses are not issued between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 PM. Applicants should plan on spending approximately 20 minutes in the Town Clerk's Office when applying for a marriage license.
