Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is located at Ridgefield Town Hall on the upper level.

The pantry is open to all local Ridgefield residents with food insecurity.  All residents should complete an application with Social Services.  Directions to the Food Pantry


Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 


Donations of non-perishable food as well as personal care and household products are always appreciated. Donations may be brought to the Social Services Deaprtment in Town Hall during business hours. We take any unopened, non-perishable food items that have not expired.  For anyone wondering what to donate; we recommend bringing items "that your family eats."  Typical needs include coffee, cooking oil, tuna, peanut butter, cereal, canned fruit, pasta sauce.  We traditionally receive large quantities of canned green beans, pasta.  Large donations may be brought to Yanity Gym storage area by appointment; please call in advance.  Click here for our shopping list of our most typical high interest/need items.

The Town of Ridgefield has several options available to residents with food insecurity.

Town Hall Pop-Up Pantry - One time per month distribution of non-perishable food items for Ridgeifeld residents only, located at alternating sites; St. Stephen's Church and Ballard Green.  Contact Social Services for more information.  Click here for more information.

Social Services can assist you to apply for the CT State Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Plan (SNAP).

CT FoodBank Mobile Food Pantry - Located at St. Andrew's Church the second Friday of each month, 11am-12pm.  This distribution is available to all people, bring your own bags.  For more information about the Mobile Pantry contact the CT FoodBank.  Click here for more information.

Little Pantry - Located at St. Stephen's Church.  It is a cupboard located outdoors in the South Hall parking area that is stocked with some essential items.  It is available to all, 24 hours a day.

Some residents may also receive assistance from; Ridgefield Schools free and reduced lunch program, First Congregational Church Food Pantry, RVNA Food Pantry, Hillside Food Outreach home delivery or Ridgefield Meals on Wheels.  Please contact social services with any questions you might have about how to access food.
