MEETING TO ORDER
Dani made a motion to call the meeting to order. Mike seconded. The meeting was called to order at 7:06pm.

Pamme made a motion to amend the agenda to include “Spring Stroll and Summerfest” as an item under New Business. Colleen seconded. All approved.

MINUTES
Tracey made a motion to approve the February 2024 Minutes. Jennifer seconded. All approved.

TREASURER’S REPORT

  • The council was briefed on the standings of its accounts and general best practices. Reimbursements went out last month. Check was also sent out on 2/16 for Brochure Creation/Printing.
  • The council applied for an MMD grant for $1000.
  • The name of the trust account can be altered at any time.

Old Business

  • Town Hall Article
    • The council discussed being featured in the Town Hall newsletter. The council plans to utilize a spot as a recruitment pitch and to touch upon the various townwide activities it’s led over the years.
  • Ballard Park Stage
    • The council was briefed on the current standings of Ballard Park stage. The town is currently in the process of increasing the stage width and updating the stage flooring.
    • The Town will communicate with the council in the months ahead to discuss ways to create/implement a temporary structure that will enhance the performance space.
  • Behind the Scenes
    • The council discussed potential nominations for the Nancy Comstock Andrews Award as well as partnering with potential volunteer organizations to help with the event itself. The council will vote on a candidate for the award at the April meeting.
  • Brochures
    • The council brainstormed the feasibility of brochure continuation and different methods of design and distribution.
    • Colleen made a motion to make one more run of the brochures in its current format for Q2 2024 to be funded via the Town Budget. Tracey seconded. All approved.
    • Pamme made a motion that the council create a strategy around physically printed materials. Tracey seconded. All approved.
  • Banners
    • Current banners are up March 6-28. Banners have been approved.
    • The council discussed current banner guidelines. Pamme made a motion to review and revise the current banner guidelines. Colleen seconded. All approved.
  • Artwatch Column
    • Will be published on Thursday, 3/7 in the Ridgefield Press.
  • Group Updates as needed
    • Make Music Day
      • Kick-off conference call across the country that laid the groundwork for all chapters. The council plans to open registration in late March/early April.
      • The council discussed the Friday event this year. Ballard Park has been secured and will have expenses associated with use of the park.
    • Executive Director Roundtable
      • The EDR on Friday, March 1st was canceled. The next EDR will be held on June 7th at Weir Farm.
    • Scholarship and Scholarship Fundraiser
      • Scholarship applications underway.
      • The Fundraiser will be held on Thursday, March 21st from 6pm-9pm at the Lantern. RAC Council members will guest-bartend. RHS Jazz Combo will be performing 6pm-8pm and a painting will be raffled off.
      • The Lantern will donate 10% of liquor sales and food from dining room reservations to the RAC Scholarship fund.
      • The council discussed having a poster designed, social media post, and press release.

New Business

  • Spring Stroll and Summerfest
    • The council was briefed on the 2024 dates for both events. Spring Stroll will be on May 4th and Summerfest on July 27th.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:24pm following a motion made by Pamme and seconded by Mike. All approved.

The next meeting will be 4/3/2024 at 7pm.
