RACE is made up of volunteers and open to all residents who want to help our community live sustainably and be good stewards of the earth.  Serving in an advisory capacity to Ridgefield's First Selectman, our mission is to raise awareness, educate and bring about action for the:

  • responsible use of energy
  • conservation of natural resources, and
  • reduction of waste

Free composting program - Ridgefield residents can sign up to drop off their food scrap composting at the recycling center downtown. Reduce your garbage on average by 24% while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Sign up and learn more here

Make Smart Energy Choices - Watch a variety of zoom sessions in partnership with our library on ways to be more energy efficient at home.

Sustainable CT Certification -  In 2021 Ridgefield achieved a Bronze Certification in the Sustainable CT program. Ridgefield demonstrated significant achievements in actions in twelve sustainable impact areas. To see all our achievements view the full report here
