Dennis DiPinto

Dennis DiPinto joined Ridgefield Parks & Recreation as Director in March 2018 after serving 22 years as Director of Parks & Recreation for the Town of Brookfield. Prior to Brookfield, he was the Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation in Old Saybrook. Dennis brings with him an extensive background in budget administration, community outreach, facilities management, project management and parks programming.

“I’m pleased to bring my services here to the beautiful community of Ridgefield. I feel fortunate to have inherited such a dedicated staff, focused Commission, and a wide variety of facilities to grow and maintain,” said DiPinto.

In his previous assignments, Dennis was responsible for the development and construction of the Still River Greenway, the Brookfield Town Beach and Cadigan Park revitalization projects and the Brookfield High School track and field’s replacements project. He has held a number of positions within the Connecticut Recreation and Parks Association, and collaborates regularly with community based organizations to deliver activities and programs to the town.

Dennis earned his degree from Franklin Pierce University in Business Administration and Recreation and Parks Management. He currently resides in Brookfield with his wife, their two college-age daughters, and their cat, Ollie. When he’s not working, Dennis enjoys skiing, tennis, Scandinavian crime drama’s and is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers & Red Sox fan.

“I encourage everyone to take advantage of the miles of scenic trails (trail maps are available on our website), explore our affordable fitness classes at the Recreation Center, or try your hand at Pickleball (one of the fastest growing sports in the country),” said DiPinto. “The important thing is to do something active so you can feel a little less guilty while you binge watch that show you love or read that book from the comfort of your couch.”
