The Finance Department is responsible for the maintenance of the accounting and reporting systems for all the funds, departments, offices, boards and commissions of the Town. The office prepares and monitors compliance with the operating budget and 5 year capital improvement plan for the Town.
Kevin Redmond has been controller since September 2008. He and his family have lived in Ridgefield since 1999. Mr. Redmond's background includes serving as a Finance Officer in the US Army Reserves, an Audit Manager for Deloitte and Touche (auditing municipalities as well as other clients), and private/public accounting positions ranging from Accounting Manager through Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Redmond graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BS in Accounting and is a CPA.
