The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.

The purpose of the project is to is to upgrade the security Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system along the Metro North Railroad (MNR) New Haven Line, and the New Canaan and Danbury Branch Lines. This includes establishing the network infrastructure to support a new CCTV system at the passenger stations and Cos Cob Rail Bridge and the interface to the fiber backbone. The project scope also includes the routing of fiber from existing drop locations to specific node houses, control points, power substations and motor operated disconnects (MOD) along the New Haven Main Line and the installation of 144 fiber cable on the New Canaan Branch from the Springdale Node House to the New Canaan Station.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin the 3rd quarter 2025 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $19.3 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
