Tax-Aide

Event Date:
Tuesday, April 13, 2021 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Tax-Aide
We offer free tax help to low and moderate income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older.

Tax-Aide preparation will be at the Ridgefield Town Hall, beginning on March 2nd and continuing each Tuesday and Thursday morning through April 13th.

Income tax assistance is available by appointment only! For an appointment, please call Barbara Elkow at (203)438-4288.

Tax-Aide is different this year. When you make an appointment, we will mail you a confirming letter with a blank Intake Booklet that must be completed before you arrive for your session. At your appointed time, you will go to the Bailey Avenue entrance and ring the bell. A preparer will let you in and review your materials and ask you to wait - in your car, or nearby - as your return is prepared. You will be contacted if there are questions and when your return is complete.

When you come, please bring the following:
- Your completed Intake Booklet
- Copy of last year's tax return
- W-2, SSA-1099, 1099-R forms
- All 1099 forms (1099INT, 1099DIV, 1099B, etc) showing interest and/or dividends and documentation showing original purchase price of sold assets
- Any 1099MISC forms showing miscellaneous income
- All forms indicating federal and/or state income tax paid
- Unemployment compensation statements
- Dependent care provider information (name, employer ID, Social Security number)
 All receipts or cancelled checks if itemizing deductions
- Social Security cards or other official documentation for yourself and dependents
- A photo ID

* The program is open to taxpayers of all ages and backgrounds.
