Third Quarter Real Estate & Personal Property & Supplemental Motor Vehicle Taxes

TAXES DUE

RIDGEFIELD, CONNECTICUT

 

 

The third quarterly payment for Real and Personal Property taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2015 is due and payable January 1, 2017. Also due on January 1st are Supplemental Motor Vehicle taxes on vehicles acquired after October 1, 2015. The grace period for payment extends to February 1, 2017 to avoid interest charges.

 

We now have many new and exciting ways for you to view and/or pay your bill! You may pay by phone, by text or online using either an electronic check or a credit card for a fee.  Please consult your bill insert or visit www.ridgefieldct.org for more information.  Please note that online payments that are not made through our service provider must be in the office no later than the last day to pay to be considered on time.

 

If payment is not made within one month of the due date, the installment will become delinquent and will immediately be subject to 3% interest. From then on, additional interest of 1 ½ % per month or any part thereof (18% annually) will be added to the 3%. The minimum interest charge is $2.00. There will be a $25.00 charge for all returned checks.

 

FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT EXCUSE THE TAXPAYER FROM TAX AND DELINQUENT INTEREST. (C.G.S. 12-130)

 

Please make checks payable to Tax Collector, Town of Ridgefield and mail to PO Box 299, Ridgefield, CT  06877-0299.  Receipts will not be mailed unless a self-addressed stamped envelope is enclosed.

 

OFFICE HOURS:  Weekdays: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  As a convenience, the office will be open on Saturday morning January 28th from 9:00 AM to Noon and on Wednesday, February 1st from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.  Please note the only handicap access to Town Hall will be from the Main Street entrance on Saturday morning and Wednesday evening.
