Gold Card Program

Senior Positive Initiative Forum (SPIF) is a town task force working to meet the needs of Ridgefield’s senior population.  The chairman is Tony Phillips, LCSW Director of the Social Services Department. For information, call 203-431-2777 or email at [email protected].

The Senior Positive Initiative Forum (SPIF) coordinates the organizations in Ridgefield that work with older residents. SPIF has helped organize many recreational activities for seniors including St. Paddy's Day celebrations, a Luau and in the past they hosted a Senior Senior Prom at the Recreation Center for almost 100 residents!

The Senior Gold Card Discount Program is a popular program sponsored by SPIF.  In 2017 the SPIF partnered with the Ridgefield Economic and Community Development Commission (ECDC) to create the current program listing. A Gold Card is free to Ridgefield residents 65 and older. Gold Card holders receive free and discounted services from numerous town departments, organizations and businesses. It is Ridgefield’s way of thanking senior citizens for their many years of contributions to the Ridgefield community.

To get a Gold Card, visit the Ridgefield Town Hall information office, present a Connecticut driver’s license or Connecticut identification with a Ridgefield address, fill out the required form and you will be given your Gold Card the same day. With the Gold Card you will receive the  Benefits Guide, which is a list of organizations and merchants who are participating in the program and what they are offering to Gold Card holders. There is a replacement fee for lost Gold Cards. A replacement Gold Card fee is $25, payable at the Town Hall info office.
