2020 POCD Update Meeting, March 5, 7:30pm

Greetings!

The Planning and Zoning Commission is updating Ridgefield’s 2010 Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD).
The updated Plan will look 10 to 20 years into the future and recommend policies and actions that are intended to guide local efforts, enhance the community, and improve the quality of life for residents. We are seeking input from YOU to help us with this task! As part of the process of updating the POCD, the Planning and Zoning Commission is planning on holding “listening sessions” on Plan topic areas/themes (described on the attachment).

There are three (3) upcoming sessions:
· March 5th - Topics Related To Conservation / Sustainability
 - Natural Resources - Water Quality / Watercourses / Wetlands / Floodplains
 - Open Space - Dedicated / Managed / Regulated
 - Community Character - Community Appearance / Historic Resources / Scenic Resources / Community Events / Activities
 - Sustainability / Resiliency / Climate Change

· April 2nd - Topics Related To Development
· May 7th - Topics Related To Infrastructure

All of the meetings will be held in the Town Hall Annex lower conference room at 66 Prospect Street and will begin at 7:30 PM and are open to the public.
We hope that you and/or other representative(s) from your group / board / department / committee / agency / organization, etc., will attend one or more listening sessions and give us input and/or feedback for consideration for inclusion in the new 2020 POCD. See below for the topics expected to be discussed at each session. Please note that you can also submit written comments if you prefer to the Planning and Zoning Department at the Town Hall Annex prior to the meeting and/or via email at [email protected]

*If you are unable to attend the most relevant listening session, you are more than welcome to attend a different session to convey your thoughts, but please try to attend on your designated date so we can hear from everyone!

Your input might include the following:
* Key issues facing Ridgefield over the next 10-20 years
* Recommendations in the 2010 POCD that should be continued.
* Recommendations in the 2010 POCD that are no longer relevant / should be removed.
* Recommendations that should be added to guide us through the next 10 to 20 years.
