The Town of Ridgefield is governed by a unique grouping of boards, and appointed committees and commissions.  All of these bodies work cohesively under the direction of the first selectman, Rudy Marconi.  Some groups serve dual functions.

All  committees meet publicly and at regular intervals. Some are long-standing, such as the Ridgefield Arts Council and others meet to accomplish a specific project, such as school reconstruction. Citizen participation is welcomed and encouraged.  Most appointed committees require a three year time commitment. A complete public meeting calendar is updated daily by the various working groups. Some committees publish separate calendars outlining their public activities.
