Ridgefield Commission for the Disabled
About Us
The Ridgefield Commission for the Disabled seeks to:
-
Advise the Selectmen and other Ridgefield Officials, Commissions and Boards in matters pertaining to the rights and needs of disabled citizens and reasonable accommodations to their special needs
-
Pro actively advocate further improvements in current public facilities and accommodations which, although not required by statute in some cases, would provide our disabled citizens with the means for more independent and safe access throughout Ridgefield
-
Cooperate with other organizations in Ridgefield, both municipal and private, which promote programs that benefit this town's citizens who have either physical or mental disabilities
-
Exchange information and cooperate with organizations in surrounding towns, and at the state and national level, as appropriate, in furtherance of these general aims
The Ridgefield Commission for the Disabled has prepared a Resource Booklet for People with Disabilities. The booklet lists and explains the resources available in Ridgefield, state, national and federal areas as well as specific needs and websites. We hope you find the information useful.
