About Us

Polices and Procedures

The Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Department programs follow the Ridgefield Public School observed and Town Hall observed holidays.

On any of the public school observed holidays and Town Hall observed holidays there will be no youth programs scheduled. Facility rentals will follow the same holiday schedule.

If Ridgefield Public Schools are delayed Recreation Center programs will run as scheduled. If Ridgefield Public Schools have an early dismissal, all youth classes after noon will be cancelled. If Ridgefield schools are closed for the day, all youth classes will be cancelled for the whole day. The gym will be open for drop-in basketball. The pool will be open and follow the regular schedule; the fitness room will also be open.

Building and pool rentals will assume their normal time or be at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation representative and facility rental supervisor. Yanity Gym follows the Town observed holiday schedule. Programs will not be held on these holidays. Also programs will not take place on Ridgefield Public School holidays and/or vacations. Call Yanity at 431-2739 for further information.

If the First Selectman closes Town buildings due to bad weather, all programs are cancelled and staff is sent home early. Pool and fitness rooms are closed. The Recreation Center and Yanity Gym are officially closed.

Please contact our Program Information hotline at 431-2760 for cancellations.
