The function of the building department is to enforce the:

• State of Connecticut Basic Building Code
• Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc National Building Code
• International Residential Code
• National Electrical Code
• International Plumbing Code
• International Mechanical Code
• International Energy Conservation Code

We review and approve plans and issue building permits. We also perform various inspections during the construction project. At the completion of the project our department issues a "Certificate of Occupancy."
