To file a claim against the Town for damages that you feel were caused by the Town, either because of its actions or inaction, please click on "Claim Form" to load & print the basic form.  The form is in PDF format.  As the PDF format is not interactive, You can cut & paste the form to Word, fill it out on line and then e-mail it to the Safety Director at purchasing@ridgefieldct.org. , or just print it and then fill it out by hand and then fax, mail or drop it off to the Safety Director.  The Claim Form may also be faxed or mailed to you.  Please contact Safety Office to give appropriate contact (mailing address or fax #) information.  You may also pick it up in person at Town Hall, 400 Main Street.

About Us The Safety Director of the Town is responsible for processing the property and casualty claims from both the Public and Town Departments. The Safety Director also assists Town Departments in complying with OSHA guidelines & regulations and insuring employee job safety.  The Safety Department does not have authority for all unsafe conditions that may occur around the Town and has no authority on private property. The Safety Director is Jerry Gay.  Jerry Gay is also the Town Purchasing Director. The Safety Director usually attends the Insurance Risk Management Committee meetings that are generally held the third Tuesday of each month at Town Hall in the small conference room at 7pm.  There may be special meetings scheduled in June to review renewal's for July 1 fiscal year.  This committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Selectman on all matters of Town Insurance.  The current members are Bill Jaeger (Chairmen), Jim Keidel (Vice Chairman), Al Cava, Steve Dematteo, Stephen Hackenburg and Miles Hisiger.   If there is interest in joining this committee, please contact the First Selectmans office (431-2774) as to availability.  The Town's Human Resource Director and the BOE Business Manager also generally attend the meetings, particularly when there are matters of interest to their duties.  The Town's insurance agent, The H.D. Segur Agency, has a representative at the IRMC meetings when requested.  The Insurance Risk Management Committee is generally scheduled to meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm for calender year, except for July and August.   It is anticipated that meetings for February, April, October and December may be canceled, unless there is pressing business to discuss.  Additional meetings may also be canceled at the discretion of the committee.  There is the possibility of a special meeting(s) in June to review renewal's for July 1.  Cancelations, Agenda's, Minutes and Special meetings will be posted on the web site and on the town calender.  All meetings are noticed in the Town Clerks office.  The meetings are generally held in the small conference room at Town Hall starting at 7:00pm.   Please click on the appropriate heading for the agenda or minutes you wish to review.  Meetings that are canceled will be posted about a week prior to the meeting, if possible.
