Town of Ridgefield Board of Ethics Meeting Minutes

Present: G. McLaughlin (Chairman), J. Carroll, G. Harrington,  M. Pallai, and J. Zembron (Secretary)

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 7:01pm.

The Chairman commented that the meeting was convened to consider a written complaint filed on October 11, 2023 and a written complaint filed on October 17, 2023 (the Complaints). Additionally, the Chairman distributed to the members a written communication which he received from the attorney representing the individual to whom the Complaints were directed. The Chairman suggested that the Complaints were similar enough in structure, content and allegations that they could be addressed together. Following a discussion, it was unanimously agreed to proceed as suggested.  

The Board then deliberated as to the Complaints, at the conclusion of which the Board voted unanimously  to resolve the Complaints in their entirety based on the submissions made and information received without need for further investigation.

The Chairman indicated that he would draft the Board’s decision and circulate it to the members for their comment and approval before issuing it as final.   

The meeting adjourned at 7:34pm on a motion made by J. Zembron, seconded by M. Pallai and agreed unanimously.
